After puberty, sure. But before all those hormones kick in and alter the course of mental development, there isn’t much difference. I had no idea Ness would be a girl. As people learn to speak, their mental voices sound like their spoken voices, but as a baby in the womb, Ness had no concept of how her own voice would sound and it largely tended to imitate those around her, if it was in words at all - mostly, her thoughts were feelings, impressions, reactions.
